Privacy
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Short, because we collect very little.
Who we are
Berryn LLC (“Berryn”, “we”) is a branding studio working from Wrocław, Poland and Muscat, Oman. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us its controller.
Questions about your data: hello@berryn.com. A person reads every email.
What we collect
When you book a call: your name, your email and anything you write in the booking form. Cal.com collects it for us so we can hold the call and follow up. The booking also carries the site that sent you here and the first page you opened, so we know which pages lead to calls.
When you email us: your email address and whatever you send.
When you take our brand quiz: your name and email, your answers and your score, and the country, region and city your connection comes from. Cloudflare reads the location from the connection itself; we never store your IP address. We also note which link brought you to the quiz. We use this to show and send you your result and to follow up on it. Your browser also keeps the link to your last result (not your answers or email), so you can open it again when you come back; clearing your browser's site data removes it.
When you work with us: contact and billing details, and the files and information you share for the project.
When you browse: cookieless visit counts. We see which pages are read, for how long and how far down, the site or search that sent you, your country and city, the kind of device and browser, page speed, and clicks on buttons such as Book a Call. Nothing is stored in your browser for this, and we never store your IP address: to count you once per day, your IP address and browser are turned into a code that can't be reversed and changes every day, so we can't follow anyone from one day to the next. It runs on our host, Cloudflare; no other company sees it.
Automated visitors: when crawlers from search engines and AI services (for example Googlebot or ChatGPT) read the site, we note which crawler it was and which page it read.
Only if you allow it: Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used, with clicks, scrolling and session replays, so we can find what's confusing. What you type is hidden. Clarity sets its own cookies and Microsoft processes this data for us. You can change your answer at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of every page.
Our host, Cloudflare, also processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
In your browser
A few small settings stay on your device and are never sent to us: whether the interface sounds are on (kept until you clear it), and markers that play the opening animation once per visit and the page transition as you move between pages (cleared when you close the tab).
Your answer on the privacy card (allow or not) is kept on your device for 12 months so we don't ask again.
The calendar on the booking page is loaded from Cal.com. When it loads, Cal.com may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
The “Ask AI about Berryn” buttons open ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok or Google in a new tab with a question about us already typed. Nothing is sent until you click one; after that, that service's own policy applies.
Why we use it
To reply and to prepare a proposal you asked for: steps before a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
To run your project and get paid: performing our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
To keep the site secure: our legitimate interest in a site that works and isn't abused (Art. 6(1)(f)).
To send your quiz result and follow up on it: our legitimate interest in answering someone who asked for an assessment (Art. 6(1)(f)). Tell us to stop and we will.
To count visits and improve the site: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages help people and which don't, using the cookieless counts above (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Clarity recordings: only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
To keep tax and accounting records: a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Only the services that run the studio: Cal.com (booking), Cloudflare (hosting and our visit counts), Microsoft (Clarity, only if you allow it), our email provider, and accountants or tax advisers where the law requires it. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the US. Where data leaves the EEA, the transfer relies on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become a project: deleted within 12 months.
Quiz answers that don't lead to a project: deleted within 12 months.
Client records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually five years after the end of the year the project closed.
Project files: kept so we can support you after handoff, and deleted when you ask, unless the law needs us to keep them.
Visit counts: deleted after 25 months, so we can compare a month with the same month a year earlier. Crawler records: 13 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@berryn.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Poland that's the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, uodo.gov.pl). We'd rather hear from you first.
Changes
